This is what our 2024 experiential conference was like!
For the sixth time, we invited teachers and helping professionals to come together for play, reflection, music, and celebration at our The Game of Life experience-based conference.
This year marked the second time we extended the event to two full days — and for us, the organizers, it was pure joy to welcome back familiar faces, as well as many new ones who chose to stay longer than before. We were thrilled to see that the unique “TANDEM vibe” continues to attract and inspire people.
Intuition, reform, stress management, change, teenagers and gifted students, emotions and conflict.
These were just some of the key themes around which this year’s Game of Life conference was built. As always, the space between sessions — the coffee breaks — played just as important a role as the workshops and talks themselves. They offered opportunities for sharing, connecting, and tuning in to each other.
By popular demand, we included a guided city walk this year, and we offered a variety of programs aimed at supporting participants’ mental well-being, providing practical tools for self-care and emotional resilience.
One of our most current and pressing topics also returned: internet safety — which we explored in its broadest sense, from mindful digital device use to the prevention of online harassment.
This year, our creativity and problem-solving skills were put to the test in the very final moments of organizing, as one of our keynote speakers, Dávid Szél, had to cancel due to illness. We’re incredibly grateful to Péter Urbán, one of TANDEM’s co-founders, who stepped in and delivered an inspiring talk on educational reform.
Thankfully, our emotional safety remained intact on Saturday morning, thanks to Feri Pál, who spoke with his signature energy and empathy about a topic close to all of us: how to support ourselves — and each other.
Friday evening brought laughter and reflection with an improvisational performance by the M1M Action Group, who brought not just the conference vibes to the stage, but also revived some unforgettable moments from TANDEM’s history.
And on Saturday, we wrapped things up with a little birthday cake — a sweet way to say thank you for all the meetings, encouragement, and meaningful conversations we've shared along the way.
Thank you for joining us and for spreading the word — we hope to see you again next year, just as cheerful and inspired!
Until then, feel free to reach out to us anytime — we’d love to stay connected!
